I attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and received a M.Ed in the Initial Licensure Program as well as a B.S. in Elementary Education.
My hometown is Kewaskum, WI.

My Teaching Philosophy:
I enjoy teaching students how to be a responsible party in the success of their own education. I like to guide students to ask questions and inquire about something they don't quite understand and be educational risk-takers. I believe the process of learning is just as important as the content. My teaching philosophy revolves around educating students on how to be successful in life. I teach the whole student as I believe academics is only a part of succeeding. Physical, social, and emotional needs should also be taught and nurtured for the student to flourish as a whole. Students learn in a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment. It is my duty to make sure each student is reaching their full potential in my classroom.
A Few of my Favorite Things!
Food: I love to munch on popcorn, eat homemade pizza, garden fresh sugar snap peas, and ANY kind of chocolate!
Movies: My all-time favorites are Remember the Titans, Sister Act 2, Walk the Line, Cars, and Elf.
Books: I love to read for fun. Tangled Threads, The Secret Window, The Glass Castle, any Jodi Picoult, Mary Higgins Clark, or Nora Roberts book I can read for hours.
Music: Gavin DeGraw, Kelly Clarkson, Dixie Chicks, Joss Stone, Patsy Cline, and Aretha Franklin are some of my favorite artists...but I like all types of music!

Hobbies: I enjoy camping in the summer and fall, snowshoeing in the winter, and reading, baking, and watching movies all year long!
Strangest Food I Like: I like ketchup more than the average person. I will eat it with ham sandwiches, chicken, grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, and the obvious burger and fries.
Time of Year: I love the time of year when summer is just starting to change into fall because it's still warm enough to wear shorts but cool enough for me to love being outside. (I'm not a fan of scorching hot summers unless I'm by an ocean!)

Great Places I have Visited: I have traveled to Mexico and Alaska a few times for vacation. I have been to many of the states, but would like to take a road trip out west to go camping at state and national parks.
My dream vacation is to go on an African Safari.
An interesting tidbit about you: I have a twin sister, but we are polar opposites!
Biggest ambition: Travel! Anywhere!
