Mandarin Language Teacher

My name is Mrs. Zhang. I'm originally from China's Motor City, Changchun, Jilin, China. My birthday is October 16th. My family includes my husband and our daughter. I received a Bachelor of Science in Management from the Jilin University in China and a Master of Science from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.

                               My Teaching Philosophy:

Every student is different, but all can learn language well.  My teaching philosophy is to: develop students' interest in Mandarin; motivate students to pick up the language; create an environment as similar to immersion as possible; and use a multi-faceted approach such as vocabulary drills, story-telling, hands-on activities, music/songs, and video programs to make class enjoyable.

Foods:  all well-cooked foods

Books:  historical fictions, biographies

Music:  classical music, Chinese folk music

Quote:  “有志者，事竟成”: Nothing in the world is impossible if you set your mind to do it.

Hobbies:  reading, cooking, traveling, outdoor activities, and being around with friends.

Time of the year:  Autumn because it's harvest season with rich color, peace, and calm.

Travel destinations I have visited:  Many places in China, Canada, United States,
