I have served as co-coach of the Pulaski Middle School cross country team for past 6 years. I have also coached various sports including basketball, baseball, track and nordic skiing.
My Teaching Philosophy:
Teaching involves understanding children academically, socially and emotionally. In order to track changes in these areas, ongoing assessment is a critical component during the school year. Assessing to instruct also insures the students will be continually challenged and learning at the appropriate level. Instructionally, the teacher's role is more of a facilitator, guiding the children with inquiry-based instruction and problem-solving skills. Social interaction skills are strengthened while students collaborate in small and large groups. Due to diverse learning styles, instruction demands multi-sensory approaches where students are actively engaged in learning. Authentic and real world content provide further inspiration to students as they work both collaboratively and individually. Due to the increasing technological demands and advances in our society, multi-media integration is necessary. The teacher-student and teacher-parent relationships are vital to the academic success of the student.

Also, my son Stephan, won the 1st annual National Bob Hope Scholarship, announced on national tv while his band (Pulaski) was marching in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
