My Teaching Philosophy:
Communication, condition, commitment, confidence, and constructiveness
Communication is based on the whole community in which you start your teaching. Good communication between a teacher and students, a teacher and other teachers, a teacher and parents, and a teacher and administration are crucial to the success of teaching.
Based on a good communication, you will have a good awareness about your students’ learning styles, the strengths and weaknesses of their learning habits.
Teaching is also about passion. It is the passion and enthusiasm that bring me to the field of education. But like everything else, being a teacher will also have his/her own ups and downs. Students have learning curves as well. At this crucial point, commitment is a key to helping make a leap for both the teacher and the students, in their ever-changing environments of teaching and learning.
A good teacher is also a good performer. You should always perform in your classroom and in front of your students or with your students with confidence. Your confidence will also make your students to be confident in what they are learning from you.
Classroom is teachers’ stage. How to manage a classroom is always a challenge to a teacher. My classroom management principle is constructiveness, which requires mutual respect between teacher and students. It is very important for the teacher to be consistently positive on teaching each and every one of the students when they make progress or when they make mistakes. Decision making in classroom management should be based on constructiveness, not destructiveness.
