BAM Kids Club

An Enrichment Program for Children

BAM (Body and Mind) Kids Club is open to all area children who meet the age or grade requirements of the courses.
WIS enrollment not required.

Fee-based after-school care is available.

WINTER / SPRING 2009

Kidstage Drama Workshop

Every kid gets to be a star by participating in acting exercises, theatre games and practicing drama skills. Finish the session with a live performance!

Duration: 7 weeks on Mondays, Jan. 26, Feb. 2, 9, 23, March 2, 9, 16 (no class Feb. 16)
Class 1: 4 to 6 year olds at 3:30-4:30 PM
Class 2: 7 to 12 year olds at 4:30-5:30 PM
Performance Date: last class on March 16.
Cost: $63
Minimum enrollment per class: 8 participants

Beginner's French

Students will learn through an interactive curriculum, using art, games and conversation.

Duration: 10 weeks (20 lessons) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 3 - April 30 (no classes March 17, 19, April 7, 9, 14, 16)
Ages: Kindergarten to Sixth Grade
Time: 3:30-4:30 PM
Cost: $90
Minimum enrollment per class: 4 participants

Scrapbooking

The children will learn how to create a photo album keepsake using their own photos, memorabilia, and stories. Children should come to class with 50-75 photos that they want to use in their album. These photos will be cropped and trimmed by the children so parents should make sure they have copies for themselves if they want. Supplies of an 8x8 album, page protectors, pen, adhesive, and decorative paper are provided by the instructor.

Duration: 6 weeks on Tuesdays - Jan 13 to Feb 17
Ages: First to Sixth Grade
Time: 3:30-4:30 PM

Kids on the Move

In both levels, children learn age-appropriate dance techniques (tap, ballet, jazz), creativity, and self-confidence in movement. Muscle groups, stretching activities, working with rhythms, creative acting and pantomime are included in the classes.

Duration: 15 weeks on Tuesdays, Jan. 13 to May 15
Level 1: 2 1/2 to 5 years old at 3:45-4:30 PM
Level 2: 6 to 9 years old at 3:45-4:30 PM
Performance Date: Tuesday, May 15
Cost: $133, either level
Minimum enrollment per class: 4 participants

Rhythm and Tunes with Ms. Taku

Participants will learn to play a variety of rhythm instruments while singing songs from a variety of cultures including African, Hispanic, Indian, Israeli, Middle Eastern, Native American and more. Dance steps will be taught for those who want to incorporate dance into the music created.

Duration: 6 weeks on Wednesdays, January 14, 21, 28, Feb. 4, 11, and 18
Ages: 4 to 10 year olds
Time: 3:30-4:30 PM
Performance Date: To be determined with participants

Calling All Young Artists!

The young artists will travel through time and space to explore the art world, from pre-historic times to the present. As visiting artists, the children will make artwork on each visit with consideration to the outside influences on art such as symbolism, style, patronage, religion, government, media and technology on that particular place and time. The Art Room will become a Time Travel Zone!

Session I
Duration: 10 weeks on Thursdays - Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29, Feb. 5, 12, 19, 26, March 5 and 12
Ages: Second Grade and Up
