WIS provides supervised care before and after-school on the ground floor of the building. Students may read, do homework, draw, play with the toys, talk with friends, and other appropriate indoor activities. As enrollment numbers allow, supervised outdoor play will also be integrated.
Before-school care: This service is open from 7:00-8:15 AM. Students arriving before 7:45 will be offered a variety of cereals, milk, and juice for a breakfast. Our regular drop-off time is 8:15-8:30 at which time students may enter their homeroom to ready themselves for the school day.
After-school Care: This service is available from 3:30-6:00 PM. Students will be offered a piece of fruit, a juice and whole-grain crackers. Our regular pick-up time is 3:30-3:45. Any student not picked up by 3:45 will be enrolled in after-school care.
NOTE: The program will also be offered when the school is closed for in-service or conferences and one week of extended vacations.
Charges: The services for before and after-school care are charged by the quarter hour and are billed to parents monthly.
Prepaid, Planned Use - The charge for this service is $0.50 per quarter hour. In early summer enrolled families will receive a mailing, which will include a sign-up form for before and after-school care. Prior to the start of school, parents complete the form and pay for the first month of use as defined by the hours selected on the sign-up form. By the first of each month, thereafter, the parent pays for the upcoming use of before- and after-school care.
Occasional Use-The charge for this service is $0.60 per quarter hour. On the day of need, the parent drops off the child early and the supervisor records this use. For after-school care, on the day of need the parent informs the school that his/her child needs to stay at school after 3:45 PM. The supervisor records the time used. At the end of the month, the parent is billed for all the times of that month.
Penalty for Late Pick-up-If a child is not picked up by 6:00 PM, a charge of $2.00 per quarter hour will be billed.
