I am still working on the general art curriculum for WIS but wanted to share some information about myself and my teaching philosophy.
I am of Armenian origin born in Egypt. I immigrated to America in 1979. I graduated from California College of Arts with a BFA in Film and Video, I continued my studies at San Francisco State University and received my Teaching certification from The
University of Iowa.
My teaching experience encompasses Pre-school to High School, from basic art instruction to interactive multimedia computer projects, and cultural explorations.
As an Art teacher I share my love of the Arts with students, I enjoy helping them embark on a life long journey of exploring, experimenting and appreciating art. I encourage students to find creative solutions to problems and provide venues for them to express
themselves through art.
I have traveled extensively in Africa, Europe, Australia and Mexico, these experiences of different cultures inform my teaching philosophy. I believe that it is vitally important to introduce children at an early age to the artistic products of other world cultures.
I am fluent in Armenian, Arabic and French.
in friendship,
Arda
