Visual Arts

6th grade students work on still life using 4 mediums in 4 different sections - oil pastels, water color, pencil and charcoal. A Kindergarten student is exploring the Lasaux caves and how     people painted on walls using a classroom Smart board.

The arts are a universal form of human expression and a unique way of knowing that engages us in affective, imaginative and productive activity.  Learning through the arts helps us to explore, shape and communicate our sense of identity and understanding of the world, while providing opportunities to develop self-confidence, resilience and adaptability.  Involvement with the arts can contribute to an inquiring and empathetic world view, stimulate imaginations, challenge perceptions, develop thinking and analytical skills, enrich emotions, cultural and spiritual lives, uplift and entertain.
